Meeting at Wraysbury Sailing Club, 12th April 2008
During a very friendly meeting at Wraysbury Sailing Club the following points were discussed and agreed in outline:
- 1st Sunningdale are welcome to use the club, waters and grounds but are asked to avoid kayaking on Sundays when there is club racing.
- 1st Sunningdale will sign up as a Family/Group member of WLSC - c. £120 pa. This will allow different people from 1st Sunningdale to lead visits to WLSC and not rely on just one person. WLSC will arrange keys for access.
- Marine insurance generally covers equipment (theft and damage). Proper use of equipment is the responsibility of the user. Kayakers should have personal accident insurance and accept risks.
- WLSC will investigate adding 1st Sunningdale's kayaks to WLSC club insurance as club boats as a separately identifiable item; 1st Sunningdale will investigate independent insurance, possibly through Scout Insurance Services. 1st Sunningdale will pay for the insurance of the kayaks.
- Maintenance of the kayaks will be the responsibility of 1st Sunningdale. WLSC will advise 1st Sunningdale if any maintenance is required that 1st Sunningdale may be unaware of.
- WLSC will provide space for the safe storage of paddles, splash decks, life jackets and other equipment needed for use of the kayaks.
- 1st Sunningdale may take the dinghy currently outside the Sandy Lane stores up to WLSC for use as a safety boat. If an engine is required for the dinghy there is space at WLSC to store it safely.
