There was a fantastic turnout at the Centenary Hog Roast at the Scout HQ in Sandy Lane on Sunday. Nearly 150 past and current members came from as far away as Cornwall, Chichester and Dale Lodge Road. It was a lovely day, the sun shone and a gentle breeze blew; adults chatted and children played; the hog was delicious and the puddings delectable. It was lovely to see past leaders from fifty, twenty-five and fifteen years ago and past committee members with nearly twenty-five years service come to see the Group thriving and the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts continuing to enjoy the adventure of Scouting that they all helped so much to sustain. Much thanks goes to Sue Klincewicz, Louise Home, Lynne Ringshaw and Vanessa Crook for organising such a wonderful day. Thank you. |
