Centenary
|
These events are all open to the public and we would be very glad to see you at any of them. 2010 is our centenary year There have been Scouts in Sunningdale since 1910 and we are one of the earliest Scout Groups anywhere. From these very simple beginnings there are now over 28 million Scouts worldwide making Scouting one of the largest organisations in the world. We, in the Sunningdale area, are very proud to have been part of this movement from the very beginning. |

CURRY AND BINGO AT THE RAJVOOG, SUNNINGHILL
Wednesday 17th March, 7.30pm onwards
Special St Patricks Curry Bingo Night;
Cost will be £15 per head.
The Rajvoog in Sunninghill is a very friendly Indian restaurant with an excellent chef. Profits will go towards camping equipment, which we are greatly in need, due to the increase in numbers of youngsters in our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. We have a Group Camp in May which will be attended by our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and therefore need more equipment.
Please support us to help raise much needed funds. When was the last time you played Bingo? Come and have a laugh.

Jumble Sale
Saturday 15th May 2010, 2pm Scout HQ, Sandy Lane
A regular fixture in village life: please bring anything you would like to get rid of that you think might be saleable in the morning and come along for a cup of tea, biscuits and cake and inumerable bargains in the afternoon. Doors open at 8am to take in jumble and doors open for the sale at 2pm. All welcome!
Centenary Celebration Ball
Saturday 26th June 2010, 6.30pm Berystede Hotel
A midsummer's night of food, fun and dance serenaded by Sunningdale's very own Glen Griffiths' band, all in order to celebrate 100 years of continuous youth development in the Sunningdale area and raise funds for another few years. If you have had anything to do with the 1st Sunningdale Scout Group over the past 100 years you would be very welcome to join us and we will be very glad to see you. Sunningdale Area Carnival
Sunday 19th September 2010, 11am Broomhall Recreation Ground
1st Sunningdale Scout Group will be represented strongly again at this popular local event. Come and visit our stalls and join the fun. The theme of the carnival will be 'Around the World in 80 Days'. For more information visit the carnival web site at www.sunningdaleareacarnival.co.uk.
Centenary Celebration Day
Sunday 17th October 2010, 12noon Scout HQ, Sandy Lane
This is a day for any and all to gather at the Sandy Lane HQ to eat, drink and pass the time of day. There will be no charge for this event. If you have had anything to do with 1st Sunningdale in the past 100 years this will be your chance to come back to the old Scout HQ and remember how it used to be. We really would like to see you there.
